Admittedly, I am not well versed in all of John Green's work. He has a super following of fans. I loved The Fault in Our Stars, and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Paper Towns sits on my bookshelf waiting for me to get over this rant:)
It is fiction, he has an imagination, and a good one. He is a successful writer, and let's face it most of us struggling, fledgling writers, we wanna be him. I mean our own voiced versions of him. So why am I so angry?

Writers do damage our readers, make no mistake- we do (if we are good) affect change. If you read a story like The Fault in Our Stars you may never think of childhood cancer the same. You might cry, (or sob like I did), good writers affect emotion. His books, are not harmless, no education is without harm. In everything we read, we are loosing ignorance and some form of innocence.
I am angry because this social media outburst, is a waste of creative resources. Will John Green now have to try and change his tone so he sounds less "creepy" to some internet trolls? Will he accidentally do this anyway? In accusing, these nameless, faceless, internet people are trying to censor art. Here is a novel idea, if you don't like reading someone's book, how about you just don't buy it? I'm sure John Green won't miss your readership!
